MIB Louise Yamada, Technical Analyst

This week, we speak with Louise Yamada, the grande dame of technical analysis.

Yamada now runs Technical Research Advisors, LLC (“LYA”), and had previously spent 25 years in the research department at Smith Barney, where she became Managing Director of Technical Research at Citi. Louise was top-ranked in “Institutional Investor” in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004, before going independent.

Louise is a Chartered Market Technician and a member of the Market Technicians Association, the American Association of Professional Technical Analysts and the Financial Women’s Association.

Yamada holds a master class on technical analysis, including her approach to divergences, trends, relative strength, supply/demand analysis and what Technical Analysis can do for investors.

She makes the case that the 2013 breakout augers a new secular bull market, one that nay be a due for a retracement but potentially can see gains for years to come.
