Stellar iPad Reviews

The reviews of the iPad are out, and they are pretty outrageous. If you are afraid of arousing any consumer lust, steer clear of them.

WSJ Walt Mossberg: Calls it a ‘Game Changer’ that pretty close to a “Laptop Killer.”

NYT’s David Pogue: Techies will hate it, everyone else will love it. “a new category of gadget; designed and built by a bunch of perfectionists. If you like the concept, you’ll love the machine.” (Pogue’s FAQ is here)

Edward C. Baig, USA TODAY: “The first iPad is a winner. It stacks up as a formidable electronic-reader rival for Amazon’s Kindle. It gives portable game machines from Nintendo and Sony a run for their money.

Time, Stephen Fry: “one doesn’t relate to it as a “tool”; the experience is closer to one’s relationship with a person or an animal.”

Even Mrs. BP — who hates technology, can’t stand cellphones, and uses email only grudgingly — wants one.

That’s a frightening indicator of enormous sales potential.
