Futures Flat Up

Its good to be back home.

We have a busy week coming up — lots of economic data culminating in NFP on Friday. Before then, there will several important releases and speeches, including: Motor Vehicle Sales, Construction Spending, ISM, Beige Book, ECB announcement, and Productivity.

The Fed initiates a bit of a charm offensive, with Chair Ben Bernanke giving speeches Tuesday and Wednesday, while other Fed heads will be speechifying the rest of the week: NY Fed prez William Dudley and Boston Fed Prez Eric Rosengren (Monday), Atlanta Fed Prez Dennis Lockhart speaks Weds/Thurs, and Minneapolis Fed Prez Narayana Kocherlakota on Thursday. Is it just me, or does that seem like a lot of Fed chatter?

During the coming days, we will see how the markets can absorb last week’s sell off. Was this the start of something more ominous? Will they bounce back now that I have returned (heh), and stabilize.

I suspect the liquidity factor means there is still more upside to go before the rally faces it demise.

More once I settle back into my desk . . .
