CNBC’s ‘Squawk Box’ Gets an Upgrade

Now, a collector’s item

They are shuffling the cards in the CNBC deck, and so far, it looks like upgrades across the board:

With the departure of well regarded Erin Burnett and the untimely death of well respected veteran anchor Mark Haines led to the juggling.

At 9am, Squawk on the Street adds Carl Quintanilla and James Cramer. (Michelle Caruso Cabrera seems to have been exiled to Greece).

But the big changes are on SquawkBox. CNBC adds NYT reporter and Too Big To Fail author Andrew Ross Sorkin as the newest  SquawkBox anchor.

When Murdoch’s News Corp bought Dow Jones (including WSJ, Barron’s, etc.), it seemed that CNBC hooking up with either the NYT or FT was inevitable. Not only is Sorkin a good it in the morning, but I would expect to see more NYT reporters showing up on CNBC.
