Speaking of physics and cognitive transformation, today is Emmy Noether’s 133rd birthday: a mathematician and theoretical physicist largely ignored by history (she was a woman you see) but whose work was none-the-less regarded, by Einstein and others, as brilliant, germinal and deeply influential in a number of sub-disciplines including modern particle physics.

She got a google doodle today so that is something.
