Davos Blogs

I have never been a big fan of the temporary blogs — by the time they build up a body of work, find a voice and a following, they disappear. The NYT Red Carpet Oscar blog is a classic example.

The latest blogs in this genre are Davos related. Both the NYT and the WSJ have created Davos blogs, but I can’t imagine either gaining any traction.

The NYT has integrated their "Davos Diary" into DealBook (which grows in size and scope). The Journal has the separate Daily Davos.

There needs to be a niche news format that falls somewhere between the blog and the stuffy old format news coverage that covers short term events like this.

So there still is something the net has to invent?

Or how about a short term event blog?
