That’s it — I quit. Throwin’ in the towel, given’ up, jest not worth it.
I am talking about the Bloomberg’s website. (I wont even link to it, I am so sick of it sucking so badly).
Between the incessant pop-ups, the taking over Explorer, and best of all, crashing my machine for the second morning open in a row, I simply give up. Consider this f$%* you my swan song. I plan on never mentioning the site again — at least until they clean their act up.
The damned site is almost useful, with some good content and excellent columnists. But they are simply to goddamned obnoxious (is that a surprise?) to deal with on a machine where trading orders get entered.
I don’t know what sick, evil f$%^&ing bastard is responsible for the decisions about the site, but they should die a slow, horribly painful, lingering death.

barry throws in the bits
revisiting a brief discussion we had several months ago, frequent meta-roj blogologue contributor barry ritholtz is fed up, and he’s not going to browse there anymore. it’s a thread that’s been woven through the meta-roj blog… sometimes we bounce it…
If you still find the data useful, you might consider using Firefox or Mozilla instead of IE. They automatically block popups and are not susceptible to the browser hijack that IE is. Looks like Bloomberg displays fine to me using Firefox. Both can be found at http://www.mozilla.org. I prefer Firefox for straight browsing, and it’s rock-solid, even though it’s only at version 0.9.

I don’t think this is Bloomberg doing this to you. There are no pop ups or other problems when I use Bloomberg.
What you are seeing is more characteristic of a spyware/adware infestation on your computer. That is what is crashing your computer and throwing pop ups at you.
Talk to your technical people. There are tools like Adaware and Spybot to fix this.
What they said. IE and Outlook/Lookout Distress aren’t safe to use.
Yeah Bloomberg.com Does Suck, but So Does Internet Explorer
Barry at The Big Picture has had it with Bloomberg.com: That’s it — I quit. Throwin’ in the towel, given’ up, jest not worth it. I am talking about the Bloomberg’s website. (I wont even link to it, I am…
Ditto. Firefox will stamp out all those awful Macromedia things, and the Bloomberg site will work like a dream.
bloomberge radio sucks just before every important datas come out the radio starts messing around
hey just google toolbar, or firefox and you should be fine. Though bloomberg does suck a little since they are not completely transparent, but then something is better than nothing.
Funny stuff – I noticed free e-mail @explorersucks.com
It is at http://www.explorersucks.com/email/
By the looks of the main page, they support Firefox.
Bloomberg is a terrible company period! They’ve been going down hill for a while now. Don’t even return phone calls, emails, etc. Stay away from Bloomberg SEOMS!
