The Million Dollar Duck Race has become an annual event in Manhattan to raise money for the Special Olympics.
Every $5 donation to Special Olympics New York adopts one of these racing ducks
in your name and gives you a chance to win one million dollars, American
Airlines tickets, a digital camera, or other fabulous prizes. More importantly,
your donation will help Special Olympics New York provide year-round sports
training and Olympic-style competition to children and adults with intellectual
disabilities.
It is on Thursday, September 14th at the South Street Seaport.

ahh … 25,000 ducks * $5 /duck is $125,000. And they are giving away $1,000,000 at the end? Wouldn’t it be better to can the duck race and just give the prize money to the Special Olympics?
In fact, if you’ve got a lot of ready cash buying 25,000 or so ducks seems like a pretty good bet.
I just bought the Quack Pack (5 Ducks). Two of which will be festooned with “BigPicture Blog” labels. If a BP Duck wins I will donate the money to Barry as long as he uses it to crush the evil forces of Socialism and maybe spruce up the blog :)
I read the rules — they only payout the $1m if a golden duck wins . . .
