The Toronto International Film Festival will show the world premiere of The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town, the Thom Zimny-directed chronicle of Springsteen and the E Street Band’s making of the band’s fourth album, which was released in 1978. (screening will be September 14).
The NYT reports that the Springsteen documentary is slated to be shown on HBO — and I can’t wait.
I have Born To Run: 30th Anniversary 3-Disc Set (CD/2DVD) What makes that disc so special is the DVD about the making of the album Born To Run. I had no idea it was such a long and tortured process. You watch the creation unfold in slow motion agony.
