Today I received literally half a dozen (that would be six) media inquiries asking me to comment on the political outcome, markets etc.
My answers were pretty much the same:
• I am not a political analyst, so I have no special insight into the elections;
• Nearly all elections make little difference to discounted cash flow;
• Its a fair bet that some — and perhaps most — of whatever outcome there might be is reflected in prices.
I doubt the election is going to matter much, unless we get a) a real outlier result (GOP Sweep of both houses, or Dems retain both); or 2) An unusal scenario down the road (more on this tomorrow).
Truth be told, I have no special ability to discern what the election will mean to equities. But maybe you guys do:
What is the likely impact of whatever happens tomorrow on stocks?
