Reformed Broker update:
Last night was the book party for Josh Brown’s Backstage Wall Street, so I am dragging a bit. We were out late, and I have Bloomberg Radio with Tom Keene and Ken Pruitt from 7:15am to 7:45am this AM, so this will have to be short.
If you have never seen Josh “unplugged,” it is a spectacle to behold. His sharp, no-holds barred wit is hilarious. Without the natural self-imposed restraints of live TV, he busts out the F-Bombs. In response to my short intro, the first words out of his mouth were “Fuck you, Fuck you very much.” Literally. You just don’t hear that sort of language on CNBC from anyone not named Howard Lindzon.
No food and too many Blue Moons means I probably forgot most of what I intended to say when I introduced him to the assembled multitude. On the likelihood I omitted this last night, let me say this here & now: I am very, very proud of Josh, and everything he has accomplished.
When the stakes get raised, you see who can up their game and deliver. Josh is a bottom of the ninth, 2 men out, bases loaded type of guy. I have utter confidence in his judgment, character and values. I expect more great things of him professionally.
Its obvious Josh gets his sense of humor from his dad. Larry Brown told me: “Dude, he’s your problem now.”
I hope all of my problems are like this.
