Another great collection of flicks, including a few of my favorites. Amazon regular price for the Blu-Ray is $148.95; One day sale is $60.99. (DVD version is regularly $74.92, on sale for $30.99).
Its hard to describe Kubrick films to people who have never seen them. Spartacus is simply an awesome epic, directed by Kubrick at the tender age of 31. (I wanted to use the final scene imagery of the road leading out of Rome for a proposed solution to the economic crisis). Strangelove has been called the greatest black comedy ever made; 2001: A Space Odyssey “redefined the parameters of the cinema.” Clockwork Orange is an amazing dystopian dark, satirical social commentary. Malcolm McDowell is incredible– the few film gets better with each viewing. (In college, I programmed a double feature: Singing in the Rain & Clockwork Orange)
Film confession: I have never seen The Shining.
