Pretty much sums it up, except I’m not worried about identity theft. Substitute “Getting Cancer, Alzheimer’s, or Parkinson’s”.
well i can relate to identity theft, being dealing with that for over 10 years now. not sure that corporate and government tracking of personal data arent the same thing though. and there really isnt any thing we can do about them. and they arent new either. companies have been doing it a very long time now (its essentially what the credit bureaus have done since they were created)
Cool Chart. Fascinating people are more afraid of gov than car wreck.
Check out Jarred Diamond’s latest work on disconnect between irrational fears and reality.

44.4% of Yanks are ‘Afraid’ or, ‘Very Afraid’ of ‘Terrorism’? [love the spurious level of accuracy to the right of the decimal point]
More people die of falling in the shower per annum than this.
But well done to Homeland Security!
True enough. The worst thing that happened to me since 9-11 (other than losing my job) was falling off a ladder this year while pruning a tree in my yard. I now have resolved to leave that work to my nice (and very reasonably priced) Landscaper from Oaxaca.
Dara O’Briain has some good comments on that – just substitute terrorism for crime.

.
maybe its different in my state, but its a large concern that business can blow up your home (like in West,TX), or they can kill or maim you at work ( which most jobs here are physical in nature). and you wont get any help when you need it. course there is also the business can cause earth quakes, and possibly destroy your home, or business that way too. course there is no stopping that.
and i guess that government corruption thing, is that business corrupting it, or is that the 1% doing it? o is that business /1 afraid that government might actually do some thing for the rest of us?
What about bears?
Government bears or corporate bears?
The distinction appears to be important.
