[Sarcasm intended] I am thankful for war with Russia because this was the moment things spun out of control for Obama. And the Republican presidential candidates know nothing other than tough talk so we have a serious vacuum at the top feeding the whole circle jerk. Cable TV news will broadcast it all, fanning the flames, because they just ain’t got no soul or brains. But hey! At least CNBC’s ratings will surpass the late-night infomercial for Leg Magic Circle!!!

Recognizing those who have improved our financial lives

From the Financial Planning Coalition to FRED to the Center for Retirement Research, to some of my favorite blogs (including Big Picture of course), this pretty much covers it (I personally would add Abnormal Returns and Krugman’s blog to the essential blogroll though).

Safe travel this Thanksgiving to all who must do so — the stats are with you — and mass quantities of tryptophan for all (the % and effect of which may be no higher in turkey than other meats but I still need a nap afterward).

Maybe the Chicago police department is one of those that need to go clean slate. Fire every single officer. Then rehire only those who have never been associated with any questionable or disappearing videos, voice recordings or complaints. The whole culture in that police force is rotten and the only way to fix that is to get rid of anything that have even the smallest musty smell to it.

re: Trump: Anyone who believes there wasn’t widespread celebration across the Arab Muslim world for 9/11 is a congenital idiot or is being purposely obtuse. Someone almost gleefully approached me personally the morning of the 12th.
