Previously he was the Chief Economist of EF Hutton, Prudential Securities, and CJ Lawrence. Yardeni began his career at the Federal Reserve in Washington, DC and in New York City, as well as the US Treasury.
He has a B.A. from Cornell and a PhD from Yale, where he studied under Nobel Laureate James Tobin.
Yardeni describes how he happened to discovered potential problems with computer code in the 1990s. He was an early and vocal advocate for upgrading information systems to avoid potential catastrophe.
We also discuss the impact of the Fed on markets, and what challenges face the global economy.
