Any presidential candidate who got the majority of votes in those states that gave majority support for legalization, would win the election in a landslide.
Illinois is white on the map – no data. I can’t speak for the whole state, but having lived decades in the Chicago Suburbs, I am sure that legalization is at least not opposed by a majority. I’m reasonably sure that it is favored in the city proper . Downstate, I haven’t a clue.
If most of the white states (no state level data available) are actually purple, which seems plausible, the map starts to look a lot like a map of red (Republican) and blue (Democratic) states, with Texas being a notable exception. Surprising to see Texas support for legalization at 58%. Wonder if there’s a Willie Nelson effect going on there.
God bless Willie Nelson. Dude turned 82 this year.
