He has been recognized as one of Crain’s New York’s “40 Under 40” rising stars and was a recipient of the 2014 EY Entrepreneur of the Year award.
He began his career at Chubb, before moving to AIG, where he launched the AIG Private Client Group, building it into a $1B business. He was president of the group for six years.
Buchmueller founded PURE (Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange) (PURE) Insurance in 2006, a specialist insurer serving high net worth families. It is a unique firm, growing 40% year over year, now running at over $650 million per year in premiums.
