Last week, I mused about the impact of print journalists on this election in Trump’s Underestimation of Newspapers May Have Cost Him The Election. Today, I expand on that, turning it into my Sunday Washington Post Business Section column, looking at the investment aspects of the newspaper sector.
The print version had the headline Resurgent press corps needs a new business model, while the online version is Resurgent press corps needs a new business model.
Here’s an excerpt from the column:
“Print journalism needs a new business model.

2) Subscription model
3) Hybrid (advertising/subscription)
4) Endowment.”
We explore why the endowment model is much of print’s best hope . . .
