Right after the financial crisis, we threw our first conference. It was a modestly successful event, one that we built on over the years. Indeed, it was the highlight of our year, and your feedback was always great.
But putting on a conference is a huge endeavor. It is a complicated, costly time-consuming undertaking. (I still get emails asking when the next conference is going to be). When we launched RWM, we had to shelve the Big Picture conference to focus on our regular wealth management business until the time was right.
That time is now. When the opportunity came along to work with the folks at IMN, we jumped at it. We are excited to co-create this event focused on Evidence-Based Investing, to be held on November 15th, 2016 in New York City.
If you have been following my philosophy for any length of time, you know I am not enamored of forecasts, predictions, price targets or stock tips. In the Masters in Business series, the guests have been intensely data-driven. This is the show me era, and the age of investing by gut instinct, whispers, rumors, or hunches is coming to its ignominious end.
The modern rise of Evidence-based investing (EBI) is sweeping through the world of finance. It coincides with the rise of the quants, and an intense focus on data and facts, It has impacted the way we allocate assets, select funds, realistically assess goals and track net performance.
